The moment of inertia of a disc about one of it’s diameters is Im. The mass per unit area of the disc is proportional to the distance from it’s centre. If the radius of the disc is R and its mass is M,then the value of Im is,(please give a detail explanation)(1/2)MR2\t(2/5)MR2\t(3/10)MR2\t(3/5)MR2

For this derivation as the mass per unit area is not constant hence as the distribution of mass changes the moment of inertia changes.so we have to calculate it by integrations.so consider an elemental ring at a distance r from center and width dr find its mass and calculate its moment of inertia and then integrate it within the limits 0 to R
