The maximum sum possible for any two vectors is when angle is ZERO.So, it is given that a+b=50kN and a-b=10kN. It is also said that 50kN is the resultant at a particular angle. We can see that this value is equal to the maximum value. So, that means that angle must be zero. Hope this helped.
