The ladder shown in figure has negligible mass and rest on frictionless floor. The angle between the two legs of ladder is 60 0 . The fat person of 80kg is sitting on ladder. Find the contact force exerted by the floor and the tension in crossbar.

The vertical normal force will just try to balance the weight of the man from above. Hence 2N=mg
\implies N=400

Contact force =N+N =2N
2N=80g.                           (g=9.8)
N=392
Torque equation for left side in earlier
So we take angle as 30°
N(2)tan30°=T(1)
2N*1/√3=T
T=2N/√3
T= 450N

If u take g = 10 then answer will be 470.58
