the height of mercury in glass tube will remain same irrespective of the angle of tilt, this is real concept.
but  the lenght along the tube changes and it is l
      sin(alpha)= l/h
      l= h sin(alpha)

cos(alpha) =h/l
and   l = h/cos(alpha)
