When facing the edge of the door and attempting to stand on your toes, there must be a forward shift in the center of gravity. This is necessary to balance against the torque provided by gravity and is possible only when you lean a bit forward. However, because of the door there is no space for you to do the same and therefore you will find it impossible to stand on your toes.
