When you try to stand up from the straight backed chair, there is no shift in the point of center of gravity. This increase the torque exerted by the gravitational force on your body, and with the inability to support/ balance that much torque from the human joints one will find that it is impossible to do so.

when we sit in a in a straight backed chair our centre of gravity is lower and we are more stable and when we try to stand up without leaning forward we cant do this because when we apply a force on our body and a tourques is produced but the line of action not going ouside the base and we get back to our position thats why we cant do this
