there is no such tricks avaliable to solve the pulley problem ,
what u can do the free body diagram to make it sort , u need to go through the formula , apply the required formula and solve it .
if u can provide me a ques then i can tell the correct way to solve it , but thats not the shortcut .

SORRY for the previous reply,by mistakely i pressed submit answer.
see to solve pulley problems you must be able to recognise every force acting on the system you are considering.your concepts of newton laws of motion must be enough cleare so that you can apply second law everywhere.
Morever you must also be able to apply constraint relations.Constructing constraint relation is easier when you follow a well defined strategy .
