If you draw a graph between the time t and displacement x it will look like sinusoidal graph. at the points where the curve touch the maximum points are the points where the body is at rest. the crests and troughs. Or if you draw this between velocity and the time. then where the graph touch the time axis will be the rest points. you can draw it between many quantities. including P.E and K.E.
