readings of a barometer at the top and ground floors of a building are 75cm and 75.125cm respectively.the density ofmercury is 13600kgm^3 and tat of air is 1.36 kgm^3. what is height of thebuilding?

Ptop= (rho) gh = 13,600(9.81)(0.75)/1000 = 100.062 x 1,000 Pa
Pbottom= (rho) gh = 13,600(9.81)(0.75125)/1000 = 100.22877 x 1,000 kPa
Resultant force on the building
F = (deltaP) x A = (rho)air ghairA
so
hair or building = (deltaP)/(rho)air g = (100.22877-100.062) x 1,000 /(1.36 x 9.81) = 12.5 m
Thus the height of the building is 12.5 m.
