Potential energy of two masses m1 and m2 separated by distance r is – G m1.m2 / r.
In given problem m and 2m are separated by 2\l, m and 3m by \l and 2m and 3m by \sqrt{(2l)^{2} + (l)^{2}} = \sqrt{5}l.
[It is a right angled triangle.]
Potential energy of the system is (– G(m)(2m)/2\l) + (– G(m)(3m)/\l) + (– G(2m)(3m)/\sqrt{5}l)
          = – (Gm2/\l)[2/2 + 3 + 6/\sqrt{5}]
          = – (4  +  6 /\sqrt{5}) Gm\l
