Answering 28th:

If a spring extends by x on loading, then energy stored by the spring is

$T=kx \\E_{stored}=0.5kx^2 \\ \\T=kx=>squaring=>T^2=k^2x^2 \\ \\T^2/2k=k^2x^2/2k \\T^2/2k=kx^2/2 \\T^2/2k=E_{stored}$

Tension in string is given by

T = kx

and energy stored will be

E = ½kx² = T²/2k
