It’s moment changes by 2MV.
let’s assume the horizontal circle is about the origin i.e center of the circle is at the origin.When the particle is at one point A, let’s say, at distance R from O in +X axis, It’s momentum at this point would be MV and it’s direction would be downwards, i.e. towards negative y axis ( i’ve assumed that the horizontal motion is clockwise) , now when the particle moves to diametrically opposite point, i.e at a distance R from O but now in the negative X axis, it’s momentum now is MV but the direction changes by 180 degrees, the direction is now towards +Y axis. Since momentum is a vector, you’ve got to keep the direction in mind. momentum change= final – initial i.e MV- (-MV) , you see, if +Y axis is +ve then initial momentum towards -ve Y axis is -ve, theredore mv- (-mv) hence the answer is @MV.
