It is like it is thrown with a velocity of 5m/s, in the upward direction with g acting downwards.
so by third equation of motion, we can find the distance above point P
 
v2= 2gs........
hence s= v2/2g
 
s= 25/2*(9.81)
s= 1.27 m above point P.
