The acceleration is given with respect to rope .. . . so we will take net displacement with respect to boy ..
after going to top of the pulley the displacement of rope through the boy hand will be 20 meters ..
By equation of motion .   s = u.t + ½.a.t2   =>    20 = 0 + ½.2.5.t2  => t=4s
