It is better for an airplane to move into the wind for takeoff.
An airplane needs a certain minimum speed to take off. According to Bernoulli’s’ equation, the pressure above the wings is lower than that below it when airplane move into the wind. The difference in the pressure above and below the wings provides the lift force. Thus, the lift force reduces the speed required to take off.
It is better for an airplane to move into the wind for landing.
When the airplane is landing into the wind, the wings generate the lift force. This lift force makes the airplane to land with reduced speed.
