Let acc of M,m1 and m2 be a, a1 and a2...Constraint eqn:a+a1=a2____...(1)Now by FBD of M2T=Ma....a=2T/MFbd of m1..T-m1g=m1a1=》T-g=a1Likewise g-T/2=a2.....by puttig these values in equation (1) we get.....T=2Mg/(3M+4)For a1=0g=T....By solving M=4kg

Mass m1 moves with a constant velocity if tension in the lower string is 10N T1 = m1g =(1)(10)=10N Therefore tension in the upper string is T2=2T1 = 20N Acc. Of block m is therefore,a=T2/M=20/MThis is also the acc. Of pulley 2 Ablsolute acc. Of mass m1 is 0. Thus acc. Of m1 reletive to pulley 2 is a upwards or acc. Of m2 with respect to pulley 2 Equation of motion gives 20-40/M-10=2a=40/MSolving we get M=8kg

In the arrangement as shown below m1= 1kg, m2= 2kg. Pulleys are massless and strings are light. For what value of M the Mass m1 moves with constant velocity?
m(dv/dt)=2t
mdv=dt*2t
mv=t^2
v=u+gt
u=0,
m*gt=t^2
m=1, g=10
10=t
