This is because T = 6 minutes. As after every 6 min man notes that bus is coming in in opposite direction therefore 6 min is the time interval after which bus leaves in either of the direction. Suppose the first bus leaves from town A to B at t= 0 the second bus will be from B to A at t=6 min. Third bus will also leave at t= 12 min an the fourth bus will be from B to A at t=18 min.
