If three identical rods of length l each moving with velocity v are smoothly hinged at point P and Q. If the middle rod is suddenly stopped then to find the time in which 2 rods collide, we need to first find omega. Here when we take conservation of momentum about p why do we take Iw=mL 2 /3=mvL/2? Why L/2 and not L? Please clarify.
