							Dear student,

Time taken to cross the river=\dfrac{d}{v_{SR}}=\dfrac{80}{40}s=2s
Drift of the swimmer along the river in this time=v_Rt=20m/s\times 2s=40m
Hence time taken by man to reach the final point with speed 40m/s is\dfrac{40m}{40m/s}=1s
Hence total time =2s+1s=3s
