Dear student

It will have initial velocity as zero as it was stationary with respect to ground at the start

A rocket is not fired by some impulse like when you fire a bullet. Rocket starts with fuel ejection. It starts ejecting fuel and it gets thrust in the opposite direction of ejection. So it will always has zero initial velocity.
