Accelerationo of monkey w.r.t rope
amonkey + arope = g/2
amonkey + T/M = g/2
amonkey = g/2 – T/M
Another equation
T – Mg = Mamonkey
T – Mg = M(g/2– T/M) =Mg/2 – T
2T =Mg(1+1/2) = 3Mg/2
T = M(3g/4) = Ma
Hence, acceleration is 3g/4. So option (1) is the answer.
