Look A1v1=A2v2 firstly let me clear the meaning of incompressible fluid, it implies density will remain same at every point. Now, coming up to your question it is indeed applicaple for incompressible fluids . consider an area a1 and velocity of water entering from that area be v1 and a2, v2 for the other end. Area a1> a2... whre area is less flow will be more and where area is large flow will be slow and why so.. here is an example.. A day to day example... there is an aisle which is broader at entrance and narrower at exit. People are moving in their respective lines... consider a march past where your position is fixed ther person by your lef and right side back side front side is always the same. If he shifts a bit the march gets disturbed. . it means density is fixed per unit volume... suppose there are 6 queues of public.... when they move from broader end, you`ll be able to see everyone is moving with normal pace... but when narrower ends come that march of people reached at narrower end gets fast.. reason? bec if they they don`t move fast the march of people behind them will be disturbed! Mass that has entered from broader end is same as the mass that has exit and that too in the same time `t`.
