Phase would depend on the position of the particle and its amplitude at that time interval.
At maximum position that is atx = A and at t = 0,
Phase = 0 .
The quantity (ωt + φ) in x = Asin (ωt + φ) is called the phase of the motion and is useful in comparing and analyzing the motions of oscillations.
