The pressure at the center of the tornado is much lower than at its edge. According to Bernoulli’s equation, the speed of the wind that rotates around the center of the tornado will be much larger than at the edge. Thus, any obstacle that lies in its center will have destructive effect due to high speed of the wind. Therefore, the destructive effect of a tornado is greater near the center of the disturbance than near the edge.
