When in vertical circular motion, the forces acting on the object under observation are mg ( acting downwards ) and Normal reaction exerted by the hemisphere. The resultant force provides the centripetal acceleration.

At the breaking point, when the object leaves contact, Normal reaction must become Zero. Normal reaction here is purely a function of g(acceleration due to gravity) , and angular velocity. Angular velocity, more accurately, the tangential velocity here, depends only on the vertical height covered. Therefore, mass of the body plays no role and simply gets cancelled while simplifying the force equations.
Hope this helps..
