position of center of mass of a number of bodies does not depend upon the force internal or external acting on the system.instead the motion of center of mass like accelaration is dependent upon the net external force on the system...

The position of centre of mass only depend upon shape size and distribution of mass within the body. So centre of mass doesn`t depend on distance between the particles

factors on which centre mass depends upon the
  • mass of a rigid body.
  • position of mass from the axis.
  • distubtion of mass.
