Although the acceleration of a baseball after it has been hit does not depend on who hit it, something about the baseball's flight must depend on the batter. What is it?

There are two type of force is acting in the total system. One force is due to the baseball when it hits the bat of the player and another force is due to bat of the player when hit the baseball. The bat of the player will exert a larger force on the baseball than the baseball that exerts a force on the bat. The flight of the baseball will depend upon the force exerted by the player on the batter.

yes flight must depends on batter because we also explain by newton3rd law of motion.when batt weight is greater so if hit the ball by the player also greater so the acceleration produced must be greater.but if force on the bat by player is smaal so means that alreday ball will coverd less distance and low acceleration is produced.means less flight will produced.so we can say that easily that the flight of a baseball will depend upon the force exerted by the player on the batter.       (my name is irfanullah.read in university of peshawar)B.S PHYSICS !ST SEMESTER contac number 03459662814

it is the exerted force of the batt on the baseball. as we know about newton’s third law that states that
F=-F, Action and reaction forces are equal in magnitude but opposite in direction. thus if F(exerted) is greater then the baseball will flew away.

When the ball hits the bat,it exert a force on the bat, similarly the the bat will exert a force on the ball in accordance to the newton`s 3rd law of motion. But the mass of the bat is greater than the mass of the ball,So the bat will exert a larger force on the ball.It means greater the force on the ball greater will be the acceleration produced in ball As (F=ma). So the the flight of the baseball depends on the batter that with how much force he hits the ball.

(for the sake of understanding only)Well, according to newtons 3rd law both the bat and ball will exert equal force on eachother but will be opposite in direction. In bat-ball case, when the ball hits the bat it accelerates the bat, very little as the bat mass is greater, but the ball mass is comparitavely small,so when hit by bat its acceleration is much greater than that of bat when hit by ball.so that Force of bat on ball = -Force ball on bat.so newtons law is obeyed.
