V² = u² + 2ax
a = v² - u² /2x
a = 0 - 3²/2x
= -9/2x
If initial vel is 1 m/sec, then force required is proportional to 1/2x
When vel is 3m/sec, then force required is 9 times of the former.
Hence force required = 9F
