Assuming origin at the bent point.
We have centre  of mass as at position:
xcom = (0.5m + 0)/2m => 0.25
ycom = (0+ 0.5m)/2 => 0.25
(0.25,0.25)
Distance from centre of rod => root(0.25^2 + 0.25^2) => root(1/8) = > 1/2root(2) meter.
