While taking a circular turn, a body has a tendency to topple tangentially to the circular arc due to the effect of centrifugal fore acting radially outwards.
In this case the normal reaction given by the rails on the two wheels will be different. The innere rail will provide more reaction as compared to the outer wheel. As a result the centre if mass of the train will shift slightly towards the outer rail. So it will experience greater forece, and hence wear out faster.
