We have to find out the power which is developed by the swimmer.
To obtain power (P), substitute 110 N for F and 0.22 m/s for v in the equation P = Fv,
P = Fv
= (110 N) (0.22 m/s)
= 24.2 N. m/s
= (24.2 N. m/s) (1 W/1 N.m/s)
= 24.2 W …… (2)
Rounding off to two significant figure, the power which is developed by the swimmer will be 24 W.
