Draw the vector triangle you would find 4 cos 60 = speed of river

Ie speed of river is 2 m/s

The speed of the river is 2 km/hr.
Explanation:
Given that,
Velocity of swimmer = 4 km/hr
Angle = 120°
We need to draw a figure,
Here,  is the velocity of swimmer w.r.to river,  is the velocity of river w.r. to ground and V is the velocity of swimmer w.r.to ground.
 
 
 
 
Put the value in equation (I)
 
 
Hence, The speed of the river is 2 km/hr.
