A sttationary mass expoldes into two parts of mass 4 unites and 40 units respectively the large mass has initial K.E. 10J what is the initial kinetic energy of the smaller mass

the initial momentum is zero.
let m1=4 kg m2=40 kg & their velocities be v1 & v2 respectively.
according to conservationh of momentum
m1v1 + m2v2 = 0
4v1 +40 v2 = 0
v2 = -(1/10)v1
also,
0.5m2v22 = 10
Now find v2 and then v1
Then you can calculate k.e. of smaller mass
