When it is released, the stone will rise 5m before stopping. 0=100–2aD. D=5m. Gravitational acceleration, a, is 10m/s^2

This will take 1 second.

16 seconds later the stone will hit the ground. The stone will fall 1280 m in 10 seconds (D=1/2 aT^2)

So the release point was 5 meters below 1280 meters, or 1275 meter
