See below for the answer.  First calculate the angle made by the string with horizontal and the resolve tension force to calculate the tension in string. The correct option is (A).

Answer is 8 as the angle theta will sbtended on wall not on centre of circle
So costhetha=✓l^2-r^2/r
That means Tcostheta=mg
Or T=mg*r/✓l^2-r^2
That will give
T= 10*0.25/0.3122
T=8.0076N
