A sand clock filled with sand of mass M is kept on a weighing machine. The sand is allowed to fall at the rate of u=dm/dt then find the variation with time of the measured value of the weighing machine

Amount of sand is a constant .but when sand fall to the lower compartment momentum of sand will change ,so extra force will be exerted
So the force = weight +rate of change of momentum of sand
