Here if you consider the concept of pseudo force then the problem you can see see we can consider that the man is accelerated backward by acceleration of 2 metre per second square and the bus is stationary and thus the total displacement becomes 400m and initial velocity v this we can find v by putting it in third equation of motion here initial velocity of man isv and final zero as the man will become stationary with respect to the bus here remember the concept of relative motion which he considered does you get the initial velocity of the man to be 40 metre per second
