Total distance travelled by particle=\dfrac{\pi R}{2}
Hence time taken to move from A to B with speed v is\dfrac{\pi R}{2v}=\dfrac{R}{2\sqrt{2}}

Total displacement of particle from A to B=\sqrt{2}R
Hence magnitude of average velocity=\dfrac{\sqrt{2}R}{R/2\sqrt{2}}=4cm/s
