System contain two particles and as collision is elastic kinetic energy of the system remain constant before and after the collision,that`s it. Write down these words in form of equation you got the answer 3.16 m/s

Three identical balls are placed on a frictionless horizontal surface touching each other. They stick to each other because of adhesive.
