A non hookian spring has force F=-kx^2 where k is spring constant and x is deiplacement from its unstressed position. For the system shown of mass m connected to an unstressed spring initially ,how far does the spring extend before the system momentarily come to rest . assume all surface are smooth and pully is also friction less.

we have F=-kx^2if we draw free body diagram of block m then at equil. mgsin30=kx^2m×10×1/2=kx^2(5m/k)^1/2=xtherefore,x =(5m/k)^1/2
