The angular momentum vector of propellers resists the change in rotation of Plane’s body thereby adding stability to plane. Any external torque, when tries to rotate the plane would find it difficult to change the angular momentum vector of the propellers (an outcome of rotation of plane). Therefore a plane with large rotating propellers is more stable than the plane with smaller rotating propellers.
The situation is similar to throwing a football towards the catcher, wherein the passer gives some angular momentum of the ball so that during the flight it becomes harder for gravitational force to wobble it.
