A dynamometer D is attached to two bodies of masses M=6 kg and m=4 kg.Forces F=20 N and f=10 N are applied on the masses.What will be the reading of the dynamometer?

For the mass of 6kg – 20 – D = 6a ….... (i)

For the mass of 4kg – D – 10 = 4a ….....(ii)

Solving (i) and (ii) we get a = 1m/s²

Putting the value of a in (ii) we get D – 10 = 4(1)

Therefore D = 14N
