For the mass of 6kg –  20 – D = 6a ….... (i)
For the mass of 4kg –  D – 10 = 4a ….....(ii)
Solving (i) and (ii) we get a = 1m/s
Putting the value of a in (ii) we get D – 10 = 4(1)
Therefore D = 14N
