Given speed is such that it balances the force of friction, hence

Maximum speed vmax = vmgr

Or v2max = mgr

v2max / gr = m

substituting the values, we have

v2max / gr = m

vmax = 17.64 km/hr = 17.6 x 5/18 =4.87

v2max / gr = m

(4.87)2 / 9.8 x 9.8 =m

23.7169/ 96.04

Thus, the cofficient of friction between the tyre and the ground is m = 0.2469
