A boy riding on a flat car of a train moving with velocity 10m/s. The boy throws a ball which make 60 degree with the horizontal and the line of track. An observer on the ground observe the ball to rise vertically up . How much does he see to rise the ball up ?

Answer; 20 m.
Explanation ; the observer on ground will see the the vector sum of velocity this is given by the boy and due to frame in which the ball is moving. We can draw a triangle having hypotenuse at 60 degree and the base having length 10 (showing velocity of car ) we will get the perpendicular length as 10root3 this is upward velocity that observer will see .Now for height of rise V^{2}-U^{^{2}}=2gs.putting v=0,u=10root3 and g=-10 We get s=20m
