        A balloon  is  rising  up at 20m/s and a stone is released from it when it was at a height of 100m above the ground. Find the time after which the stone will reach the ground.

since the balloon is rising up and the stone is in the balloon initially
therefore the initial velocity of the stone =20m/s
now use s=ut+0.5at
if the up direction is taken as  positive 
s= -100m , u=20m/s and g= -10m/s or -9.8m/s (whatever u use)
just plug in the values and u will get the answer
