a 200m train starts from rest with acceleration 4m/s2. Head lights of its engine is switched on at t=60s and its tail lights at t=120s. Find the distance between the two events for an observer standing on platform.

Dear Rishu ,
 
Distance covered by train when head lights gets turned on => s = o.60 + ½.4.60.60 = 7200meter.
Distance covered by train when tail light turn on => 0.120 +  ½.4.120.120 = 18800meter.
when observed from platform then it seems to be turn on at a distance of 18600meter..
distance between two events = 18600 – 7200 = 11400meter..
