in arihant mec vol 2(d c pandey) ,rotational dynamics ,example 9.19,in explanation part 9.10)torque eqs applied(i.e f cross R) are incorrect right

the question is
two masses m1,m2 are connected by massless sting over a solid cylinder(no thread slipping and no axle friction is absent) if m1(left side block ) and t1 is tension in left side part of string,m2(rigt block) t2 is tension in right part of string
the eqs given in book are
t1-m1g=m1a
m2g-t2=m2a
(t2-t1)r=.5mr^2(a/r)(torque eq given in text) r is radius of cylinder and m is mass of cylinder
