Equation of projectile motion is y=x tan@ - gx^2 / (2(ucos@)^2). Compare the given equation with this ,
a=-g / (2(ucos@)^2), b= -tan@
horizontal range R =U^2 sin2@ /g = b/a
vertical range H= U^2 sin^2 @ /g = - b^2/2a
