Please provide the figure for the question and the what to find in the question.

As for conceptual part,:  As the rod is released the torque mg of the rod through the centre of mass provides the initial angular acceleration to the rod .The moment of inertia of the rod about its end is 1/3 ml^2=I

    so,  mgl/2=Ia(A is the angular acceleration).

Please provide the rest of details to proceed further in the solution.
