A particle is moving along a straight line through a fluid medium such that

its speed is measured as v = (2t) m/s, where t is in seconds. If it is released

from rest at s = 0, determine its positions and acceleration when t = 5 s.

A. s = 25 m, a = 2 m/s2

B. s = 23m, a = 18 m/s2

C. s = 18 m, a = 2 m/s2

D. s = 22 m, a = 9 m/s2

Integrate v = 2t to get

s = t^2 + const.

Put t = 0 to get constant = 0. Now find s at t = 5s

Differenciate v = 2t to get

a = 2

which is constant with time.
